Kerrytown is located just north of downtown Ann Arbor, bounded roughly by Huron Street to the south, Beakes Street to the north, Ashley Street to the west, and Division Street to the east. It sits within easy walking distance of both downtown Ann Arbor (5 minutes south) and the University of Michigan central campus (10 minutes southeast). The Ann Arbor Farmers Market occupies the block between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, and Zingerman's Deli — Ann Arbor's most famous food institution — anchors the neighborhood at Detroit Street.

History

The Farmers Market was established in 1919 and has operated continuously since then, making it one of Michigan's oldest continuously operating farmers markets. The Kerrytown Market & Shops complex was developed in the 1980s as a specialty retail village, transforming the neighborhood's commercial identity into its current artisan-food focus.
