ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Tally Hall is coming home for a bigger show. The cult-favorite indie band has set a six-date spring reunion tour, and the Ann Arbor stop puts the band on the Michigan Theater stage on April 17.
The announcement follows a surprise set on Oct. 22 at the Blind Pig, the first time the full band had played together in 15 years. All 400 tickets for that club show disappeared in under three minutes, and fans flew in from Europe and Tokyo to be there.
The group came together in 2002 while its members were University of Michigan students and stepped away from music in 2011 after two albums. Its following kept growing online during the long break, and the band now has three songs past 100 million plays on Spotify.
The tour opens April 14 in Philadelphia, then visits New York on April 15 before the Ann Arbor date. Chicago follows on April 18, with San Diego on May 1 and a finale in Los Angeles on May 2.
Fans can buy early through a Ticketmaster presale starting Oct. 28 at 10 a.m., and everyone else can buy beginning Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. The touring lineup is now a foursome of Rob Cantor, Ross Federman, Andrew Horowitz and Zubin Sedghi.
