ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Early ballots are being cast on the University of Michigan campus, where the art museum on South State Street and the Duderstadt Center on North Campus serve as satellite voting sites for the Ann Arbor City Clerk ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.

Campus early voting got underway Oct. 21, with doors open daily between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and the last chance comes on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. Any Ann Arbor resident can use the sites, including students who claim residency in the city. First-time voters can register at the satellite locations, and the sites are run with UMich Votes, a nonpartisan voting initiative of the university.

Inside the last 14 days before an election, new registrations must be made in person, and the city asks for proof of residency. Sign-ups stay open right up to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

For people who register on Nov. 3 itself, the city plans three Election Day Vote Centers: City Hall on East Huron, the museum on South State and the Duderstadt building on Bonisteel Boulevard. Voting on Election Day, at those centers or at regular precincts, lasts 13 hours, starting at 7 a.m.

Construction at Slauson Middle School also means a polling change: voters in precinct 5-45, who normally go to Slauson, are being sent to Bach Elementary on Election Day.
