DETROIT, Mich. — Four more people now face federal charges in Detroit in a conspiracy case over a campaign of threats and vandalism aimed at University of Michigan leaders, campus police, a Jewish organization and businesses seen as linked to Israel.

The new defendants, named in a superseding indictment made public Friday, are Srishti Tarana Sharma, Joseph Mark Fisher and Henry David MacKeen-Shapiro, all 23, and Aaron Hunter Vonbargen, 25. They join eight people charged in June, for a total of twelve defendants.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit, headed by U.S. Attorney Jerome Gorgon, is prosecuting the case, and the FBI Detroit Field Office led the investigation. Agents took MacKeen-Shapiro and Vonbargen into custody this week ahead of their first court appearance, while Fisher and Sharma had not been arrested.

Prosecutors allege the group used encrypted apps and social media to pick targets, then broke windows, spray-painted threats and hurled glass jars of noxious chemicals into family homes. Most of the counts are felonies.

The defendants charged in June have pleaded not guilty. An indictment is an accusation, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
