ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Early voting for the November election in Ann Arbor begins Wednesday, Oct. 21, at two University of Michigan campus locations, with four library sites opening Saturday, Oct. 24, the city clerk’s office said.

Campus sites are the UM Museum of Art at 525 S. State St. and the Duderstadt Center at 2281 Bonisteel Blvd. Library sites include Malletts Creek, Traverwood and Westgate branches. Voting hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at those locations and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at city hall. Early voting continues daily through Sunday, Nov. 1.

After Oct. 20, residents who have not registered and want to vote Nov. 3 must apply in person with proof of residency at the clerk’s office on the second floor of city hall at 301 E. Huron St. Absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day. The Veterans Memorial Park ballot drop box has moved to Fire Station 3 next door.

Michigan’s constitutionally mandated early voting period statewide runs Oct. 24 through Nov. 1, 2026, with absentee ballots available since Sept. 24. Ann Arbor opens campus early voting three days ahead of that statewide window. Ann Arbor operates under a strong-mayor form of city government. Mayor Christopher Taylor, first elected in 2014, has served as the city’s top executive through three terms marked by a focus on climate action, transit investment, and housing policy.

Election Day polling places open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. City hall clerk hours expand on weekends leading up to Election Day, including 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Voters can check registration status online through the Michigan Voter Information Center.
