In the third quarter, Michigan punt returner Andrew Marsh muffed a punt. Minnesota recovered the ball at the 17. Luke Drzewiecki kicked a field goal after that recovery. Aydan West and Zack Harden intercepted passes in the second half, and those interceptions set up Minnesota scores. Drake Lindsey threw the go-ahead touchdown pass to Darius Taylor in the fourth quarter, and Minnesota won 20-14.
